Galena Creek Restoration Photos

With help from our partners at Washoe County, restoration of native riparian vegetation has begun along the Galena Creek! The goal has been to restore areas along the creek that are vulnerable to erosion and degraded water quality through native vegetation restoration.

These projects don't just happen overnight though, it takes years for these areas to restore and for vegetation to take hold and establish itself. This is where you come in!

You can help us monitor the success of the riparian revegetation by using our citizen science kiosk at the Galena Creek and the Nature Trail to take pictures to document the time lapse and progress of this project!

Make sure to post it to instagram using the hashtag #galenacreekrestoration or email it to us at visitorcenter@thegreatbasininstitute.org for it to be documented and posted here!
